Teck allocates up to $3.9 billion to increase copper production.

Teck Resources (TSX: TECK.A, TECK.B)(NYSE: TECK), Canada’s largest diversified mining company, plans to invest up to $3.9 billion over the next four years to boost its copper production to approximately 800,000 tonnes annually by the end of the decade.

The company appears to be on track to meet its goals. In 2024, it reported an annual copper production of 446,000 tonnes, a 50% increase from the previous year, largely driven by the ramp-up of its Quebrada Blanca (QB) copper mine in Chile. For the current year, Teck expects copper production to climb further, projecting output between 490,000 and 565,000 tonnes.
