South Korea and 11 African nations held their first Critical Minerals Dialogue in Cape Town alongside the African Mining Indaba.
The event, involving around 100 government and industry representatives, aimed to strengthen long-term partnerships in the critical minerals sector. South Korea's Vice Foreign Minister Kang In-sun emphasized the importance of trust and cooperation in mineral resource development.
Discussions covered Korea's mineral supply chain strategies, African nations' mineral reserves, and collaboration opportunities. Several African countries encouraged Korean investment and technology to enhance mineral resource development and local economic growth.
